The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) [http://intach.org/index.php] was founded in 1984 in New Delhi to spearhead heritage awareness and conservation in India. Today, INTACH is recognised as one of the world’s most significant heritage organisations, with over 228 Chapters across the Country. In the past 40 years, INTACH has pioneered the conservation and preservation of not just our natural and built heritage but intangible heritage as well. Headquartered in New Delhi, it operates through various divisions such as Architectural Heritage, Natural Heritage, Art & Material Heritage, Intangible Cultural Heritage, Heritage Education and Communication Services (HECS), Heritage Crafts and Community, Chapters, INTACH Heritage Academy, Heritage Tourism, Listing Cell and INTACH Knowledge Centre.
INTACH, a vibrant membership organization, thrives on the dedication and strength of its volunteers. Each member is a vital part of a Chapter, a Forum formed with about 25 Members. A Chapter, led by a Convener and Co-Convener appointed by the Central Office, has the Freedom to structure itself internally as long as it upholds its legal and financial accountability. It operates through an Executive Committee and sub-committees, all working in harmony. A State Convener is also appointed, a crucial link between the INTACH Central Office and the Chapters in the State.
The Chapter Division, a pivotal part of INTACH, plays a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating the work and activities of all Chapters. It acts as an interconnecting bridge, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
Indian National Trust for Arts and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Patna Chapter is one of the many chapters of INTACH operating in the Patna region, the capital city of Bihar in India.
